Uttrakhand, India – A heartfelt tribute meeting was held today at the Directorate of Information and Public Relations on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the late Indramani Badoni, a great statehood activist known as the Gandhi of Uttarakhand.
Officers and employees present paid their respects by offering flowers to his portrait. Celebrating Badoni’s birth anniversary as Uttarakhand Folk Culture Day, programs based on folk culture were presented during the event.
Joint Director Dr. Nitin Upadhyay shared his thoughts on the life of late Badoni and his invaluable contribution to the statehood movement. He stated that late Badoni gave a new direction to the Uttarakhand statehood movement. The statehood of Uttarakhand was formed through the sacrifice, dedication, and sacrifice of the agitators.
He stated that it is our duty to advance the state on the path of development in accordance with the agitators’ dreams and vision.
Speakers noted that late Indramani Badoni was not only a prominent statehood activist but also a strong advocate for Uttarakhand’s folk culture, traditions, and hill identity.
He placed special emphasis on preserving the mountain’s cultural heritage, folk songs and music, and local languages. He believed that identity is incomplete without culture.
On this occasion, Deputy Director Mr. Manoj Srivastava, Administrative Officer Mr. Rampal Singh, Information Employees Union President Mr. Kailash Rawat, General Secretary Mr. Ankit Kumar, Senior Vice President Mr. Prashant Rawat, along with other officers and employees were present.
