Rajsamand: Security friends given training in self-defense, cyber security and gender awareness.

Rajsamand, Rajasthan – As part of the national-level gender campaign “Nayi Chetna 4.0” (Badlaav Ki Nayi Chetna 4.0) for the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana (National Rural Livelihood Mission), a program on gender-based violence awareness, cybersecurity, and self-defense was organized for the Suraksha Sakhis (Self-Help Groups) formed by Rajivika under the Deendayal Antyodaya Yojana (National Rural Livelihood Mission) at the Reserve Police Lines.

The program was conducted under the direction of District Collector Arun Kumar Hasija and District Superintendent of Police Mamta Gupta, and under the leadership of Additional Superintendent of Police Rajat Vishnoi and Additional Chief Executive Officer of the Zila Parishad and District Project Manager Rajivika Dr. Suman Ajmera.

In the inaugural session, the District Collector stated that the role of women in society is crucial. It is essential to empower women socially, economically, and mentally and make them self-reliant, as empowered women build strong families and a strong society. He stated that the objective of such training programs is to create a safe environment for women and reduce gender discrimination.

She urged women to speak out against violence and teach the self-defense techniques they learned today to other women and girls, so they can protect themselves in difficult situations.

Superintendent of Police Mamta Gupta said that Suraksha Sakhis act as a bridge between society and the police. Their responsibility is to work in coordination with the police department to provide a safe and positive environment to every needy and victimized woman. She emphasized the importance of educating and raising awareness among women, limiting and using mobile phones judiciously, and being vigilant against cybercrime.

She urged immediate reporting on the helpline number 1930 in case of cybercrime.Additional Superintendent of Police Rajat Vishnoi provided information about various schemes and systems related to women and girls’ safety, such as the One Stop Center, Women’s Advice and Protection Center, and Women’s Help Desk. Dr. Suman Ajmera, Additional Chief Executive Officer of the District Council, said that women understand women’s emotions better. Standing with and supporting a victimized woman boosts her confidence and provides her with strength.

Rajivika’s District Manager Bherulal Bunkar, while highlighting the objective of the program, informed about the efforts being made for women’s empowerment and connecting them with self-employment. At the end of the program, a gender pledge was taken regarding the respect, equal opportunities and rights of women in the society under Gender Abhiyan 4.0.

ASI Laxman Singh Ranawat from Women’s Cell, Lady Constable Dheeraj Solanki, District Accountant Hemant Chhipa from Rajivika, Block Project Manager Ajay Mali, Pushpa Gayri, Area Coordinator Ganesh Bunkar, Manoj Jaiswal, Bharat Sharma, members of Self-Defense Training Team and Kalika Patrolling Unit were present in the program.
